Boys lacrosse: Auburn shuts down Liverpool in second half for 8-7 road win

Auburn held Liverpool to one second-half goal, and the Maroons came from three goals down to win 8-7 on the Warriors' home field tonight.

Midfielder Jack Burgmaster led Auburn with four goals and one assist. Attackman Sean Lattimore had two goals and an assist.

The Maroons improve to 5-3 overall, and 2-1 in the CNYCL American, second behind unbeaten Fayetteville-Manlius.

Liverpool, ranked 14th in this week's Class A state poll, falls to 5-2 (1-2 in the CNYCL National).

The Warriors took a 6-3 lead into the locker room after a five-goal second quarter. But Wood and the Maroons defense pitched a shutout in the third quarter and surrendered just one in the fourth.
